Microwave Link Calculator

I am a telecommunications engineer and I am working as a field engineer for a mobile network operator. Deploying, maintaining and rescuing microwave link are important parts of my job.When being onsite (and sometimes on antenna tower) I find it inconvenient and waste of time to check the microwave link information on laptop PC with some tools such as pathloss, google earth … And the existing datafills are not always exact.Another problem is that using compass is not easy because of magnetic interference from antenna tower. So directions of the link can not be determined accurately.Because of the above reasons, I’ve made an android application called Microwave Link Calculator to help myself and people working in the field.With Microwave Link Calculator you can:

-  Get exactly GPS Coordinate at your current site and share your partners at the other site. 

-  Get the elevation of each site and elevation of the link. This lets you estimate the position to set up the outdoor equipment parts on the antenna towers.

-  Get azimuths from one site to the other one.-  With google map integrated, the microwave link can be displayed on map, you can look at some nearer targets to easily determine direction of the link from your site exactly. 

Let me show you how Microwave Link Calculator  works in some simple steps: 

- Input the names and GPS Coordinates of both sites (do manual or get the current GPS position, or tap on the map), then click calculate icon, some basic information will be displayed on the map such as distance between two sites, azimuth from one site to the other, elevation at the site ... 

- When you are on site, you can get more precise result by using your current GPS (by touching the check box Get Current GPS), and share your current GPS Coordinate to your partners at the other site. 

- When the microwave link is shown on the map (the red line), you can check link elevation by clicking on it. 

- Thanks to the link elevation, you can determine whether the link is throughout or not. Along with the elevation of the two sites, you will have better decision of the height hanging the antennas. 

- With google map integrated, the microwave link can be displayed on map, therefor implementer can look at some nearer targets (such as cross roads, a church ...)  to easily determine direction of the link from his site exactly.

         - In the last version, Microwave Link Calculator Pro was added the 2 functions. One is "save link"          (by click the icon save on the top right conner) for future use. The other one is load link (by click          icon load next to the icon save), this help you to review/modify saved links.
